Blue Sky Resorts will be promoting holiday home ownership across 22 parks throughout the UK at the Southport Flower Show, commencing on Thursday August 19th. The annual flower show - the UK’s largest independent flower show – is expected to attract around 80,000 visitors.

The four day event features the very best in horticulture and garden design as well as gourmet foods and entertainment. Visitors will be surrounded by over a million blooms and the stunning Grand Floral Marquee will be packed with spectacular displays from some of the country’s top independent growers.

As well as some inspirational show gardens with unique features, exquisite furniture and plants, the Willerby Vogue Connoisseur presented by Blue Sky will leave visitors buzzing with ideas on how to transform their leisure time.

The Office for National Statistics have reported the fastest drop in British citizens travelling abroad since the 1970s!!  During 2009 the ONS recorded 58.6 million trips, compared to 69 million in 2008, with business travel plummeting by a massive 23%.

The report showed that there was a drop of 15% in visits made from the UK abroad for holiday reasons and a drop of 6.5% for visiting friends and relatives. However, holiday-specific trips to the UK by overseas visitors rose in 2009 by 0.5 million from 10.9m in 2008 to 11.4m in 2009.

Blue Sky Resorts Marketing Manager, Lyn Pearson, successfully completed Edinburgh’s Moonwalk at the weekend.  With the support of her Blue Sky Resorts colleagues, Lyn managed to raise £400 for the charity!

Lyn and her team mates – The Bobby Dazzlers – completed the walk in 6hrs 40mins – a truly great time!!  The first 7 miles were completed at a pace of 15 minutes per mile, this naturally slowed down until around mile 20 … when the sun started rising as they walked along the coast, the walkers were revitalised and stormed the last 6.2 miles in no time at all.  Lyn said “it was really tough at times, but the spirit of all on the walk helped keep us moving.  I had so many generous donations from my colleagues at Blue Sky Resorts, not finishing the full 26.2 miles was no option for me!  I’d like to thank all who donated to this very worthy cause, it is very much appreciated!”
